We Believe

In the Bible as the only written Word of God and the ultimate authority for what we believe and the way we are to live (Matthew 5:18, II Peter 1:21, II Timothy 3:15-16, II Peter 3:15-16, I Thessalonians 2:13).

In one eternal God who is the creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 13:14, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2).

In God the Father, glorious in His holiness and limitless in power, who governs the earth in justice, love, and wisdom according to His will and purpose (Isaiah 64:8, Daniel 4:17, Isaiah 6:1-3, Acts 1:7, Ephesians 4:6, James 1:17).

In God the Son who is fully God and fully man, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died and rose again bodily, and now sits at the right hand of the Father (I Timothy 3:16, Matthew 1:23, Galatians 4:4, Hebrews 7:26, Acts 2:32-33 Philippians 2:5-11).

In God the Holy Spirit who is the Promise of the Father, the Counselor who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ, prompting and empowering us to repent and live according to the ways of God’s Kingdom; producing fruit and imparting gifts for successful living and serving (John 14:16-17, I Corinthians 2:12, Romans 8:12-16, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 1:13-14).

In mankind who was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through disobedience, and that the entire human race shares in a lost and depraved nature (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6, 59:1-2, Romans 5:12-19, Ephesians 2:1-3).

In salvation through the atonement for our sin made by the sacrificial and substitutionary death of Jesus Christ. Only through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus’ redeeming blood can we be delivered from the penalty and the power of sin, and reconciled back into a forever union with God (John 1:12-13, 14:6, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4-9, II Corinthians 5:21, I John 1:9).

In the church of Jesus Christ, his Body on earth and in heaven, and his representatives in the world. This is the community of the redeemed who walk with Christ and are daily transformed to be unique expressions of his character, power, and authority (Acts 20:28, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22-23, 3:10, 4:16, Romans 12:1-2, II Corinthians 5:20).

In the ordinances, by the command of Christ, of Water Baptism as an outward sign of an inward work, and Communion as a commemoration of the Lord’s Supper by the symbolic use of the bread and the juice of the vine, both of which are administered to those who are born again (Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-38, Romans 6:4, I Corinthians 11:23-31, Matthew 26:26-30).

In marriage between a man and a woman as a life-long covenant of companionship that bears witness to the covenant love of Christ and His church, and provides for the nurturing and training of children in the love and fear of the Lord (Genesis 2:15-25, Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Malachi 2:13-16, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31-33).

In the visible return of Christ in glory and power to receive into heaven all those who have trusted in Him as Savior and Lord, and that his coming could be at any moment (Acts 1:11, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, II Thessalonians 2:1, Titus 2:13).

In the resurrection of the dead and the final judgment of all before the throne of God: the saved entering into heaven, the glorious eternal home where God dwells in full, inexpressible glory, and the lost, who have rejected Christ, eternally separated from God in the torment of hell (I Corinthians 15:51-52, II Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 7:15-17, Matthew 10:28, Revelation 20:10,15).
